Hello THERE!
Nice to meet you...
Creating art has been a life-long passion for me. Starting in kindergarten, I entered as many art contests as I could find: designing t-shirts, a menβs necktie, and more. The necktie I designed in middle school was sold nationwide to raise money for Save the Children. In high school, I toured Germany as a result of my submission of a newspaper ad for a contest with Parade magazine & The St. Pete Times.
As college admission time drew near, I knew I wanted to study art and make it my career. At New York University, I discovered storyboarding for tv and film. I loved drawing fun characters and thinking about each shotβs composition. Wanting to know more about the illustration field, I continued my education by pursuing my MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) at their Atlanta campus.
Upon graduation, I landed my dream job at Carterβs childrenβs clothing, where I created bright florals and fun character prints for onesies, short sets, dresses, rompers, and more, for nearly a decade. It was a blast seeing my designs come to life, spotting them on kids around town, clothing stores, and in ad campaigns on TV and online.
While working for Carterβs, I also freelanced part-time, creating art for Atlanta InTown, Iguana kids magazine, the University of Floridaβs MFA organization, and childrenβs picture & chapter books. I love collaborating with people and brands across different fields to bring their visions to life with my work.
In 2021, I made my way back home to Tampa, Florida (where I was born & raised) and launched Renee Bollin Studio, my own illustration and design business. Itβs been a whirlwind, but my journey throughout my career in art has been so rewarding!
